This is the lake district in Chile and along with numerous lakes are numerous volcanoes. The most prominent one being Osorno Volcano. It’s very picturesque and how lucky we were to have a nice sunny day!
We had arranged for a tour from a local agency to visit a few sights in the area. He first gave us a little city tour of Puerto Montt.
After our short city tour, we headed out of town to the lakes district and on the way was the obligatory overpriced tourist souvenir stop (the views of the volcano were really pretty from here though).
Soon after we arrived at Petrohue Falls in the Vincente Perez Rosales National Park. We even had enough time here to fit in a short hike.
We also made a stop at Laguna Verde in a different location inside the National Park.
Later on we made our way up Osorno volcano which is also a small ski resort. It was freezing up there but the drive up was really beautiful. There were so many wildflowers blooming.
After our volcano visit we stopped for some free time in Puerto Varas. It’s a very popular resort town and it was buzzing with visitors. It’s also referred to as ‘The City of Roses’ because there are roses everywhere. It’s really a pretty town and if visiting the region, I would stay in Puerto Varas over Puerto Montt.
We had a fun day in the Los Lagos area of Chile!
Where we stayed: Holland America Zandaam Mid-Ship Lower Promenade Deck 👍
Thank you again for Shari g. What great pictures and the roses huge👍❤️
Thanks, yes the roses were beautiful and they were everywhere!
