Perry Creek Falls – Wycliffe, British Columbia

Another wandering Wednesday! It was 34c out and we thought this short but scenic day hike would be a great way to spend the afternoon. Who wouldn’t want to lounge by a beautiful waterfall cascading into a crystal clear creek?

The trail to the base of the falls takes around 45 minutes and the trail was in good condition. Be prepared though, the bathroom is out of service 😂

This 12 meter (40 foot) waterfall cascades through a gorgeous stepped canyon and part of the waterfall shoots out a hole through a rock face. I was reading in Janice Strong’s book ‘Mountain Footsteps’ that the 1 meter wide hole was made 100 years ago by miners trying to reroute the creek to find gold nuggets. We saw some evidence of the gold mining days along the trail.

If you’re looking for a short hike and a beautiful spot to cool off then this is the perfect spot!
